What a week leaves on the shelf

New episodes badged the morning after they air, films in by premiere night, every title marked with the library that holds it. Severance the morning after, Dune by premiere night, Shōgun with its subtitles already beside the file.

The tracker does the waiting

Follow a show once. Never think about it again.

Each tracked show is one hardened rule on the tracker’s feed. The name has to appear as a phrase, before the episode number, so “The Voice” never grabs “Voice From the Past”, and a season floor stops a re-upload of old seasons from flooding the disk. When an episode is on the trackers’ front page but missed the feed, the top-picks pass takes it anyway. See the tracker →

You add the show

From a search result, a premiere card or the calendar. Quality and resolution are pinned on the rule.

It airs

The feed matches the release on day one. The rule, not a guess, decides: name \W+ before SxxExx.

It is filed

Hard-linked into the right season folder so it keeps seeding, junk purged, archives inspected before they open.

Subtitled, on the shelf

English subtitles written beside the file for every viewer. You get the notification; everyone gets the episode.

Two libraries · one shelf

Plex and Hearth, side by side. Nothing twice.

Every tile, every search result and every ownership chip says which library holds it. A film on both appears once. A show you have in Plex and an episode you only have in Hearth read as one shelf — and play from whichever has it.

Plex

The main library. Streams anywhere, shares with everyone, cleaned by the finder.

Held by both · once on the shelf

Hearth

(opens Hearth in a new tab)

A second server, read through its API: posters, episodes and playback through the same pages. Optional — without one, the shelf is Plex.

RSS feeds · as it comes out

The feed is read every few minutes. The rule decides.

Every tracked show is one rule on the tracker’s RSS feeds, rebuilt to the same hardened shape at every start. The show name must appear as a phrase before the episode number, so another show’s episode title can never match; the resolution is pinned; a season floor declines re-uploads of old seasons; and an episode qBittorrent already holds is never fetched twice. What it declines is logged, so a quiet week is checkable, not a mystery.

The trackers’ front pages, already cross-checked.

Staff picks are the private tracker’s curated list. Fresh and Hot are the other indexers’ own browse pages, gated to films and shows — no adult rows, no one source carpeting the page. Posters are resolved once in the background and a confidently wrong poster is refused rather than shown. A tracked show that appears here but missed its feed is auto-grabbed by its own rule and badged.

Folders that organise themselves

Show, season, episode. Filed while it seeds.

A finished download is read from the folder, not the torrent, so usenet and torrents file the same way. The video is hard-linked into Show\Season N\ — same bytes, no copy, still seeding — junk is purged before the move, archives are read before they are opened, and the subtitle lands beside the file. Plex sees it on the next scan.

Wired in

One board, every connection.

Plex and Hearth (opens Hearth in a new tab) for the library, qBittorrent and NZBGet for the downloads, Prowlarr for the public indexers (with a Cloudflare solver for the two that need it) — and an MCP server, so an assistant can request an episode, follow a show or list what is tracked with the same tools the app uses.

Tracker traffic leaves through your VPN, whichever one you use: any provider’s SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy, or 30+ providers through gluetun. Every five minutes Pharos compares the address it leaves on with your own, and stops using the private tracker if the two match.

Subtitles that find themselves

Every new file, captioned for everyone.

Each hour, anything added in the last two weeks without English subtitles is matched by its metadata — never a guess by filename — and the subtitle is written beside the video so every viewer sees it, not only the owner. A subtitle for the wrong episode is refused. Nothing is ever overwritten.

Library care

Duplicates judged by their pixels.

The finder samples frames at the same timestamps and compares their 9×8 hashes before it calls two files the same episode — filenames are claims, not evidence. Measured on a real library: the same episode across groups scores 0–2, two different episodes at the same runtime score 25–38; the threshold sits at 12, in the empty gap. CAM and SD copies are flagged beside their better versions, and a delete always shows the exact files first.
